We’re working with a leading software company, one of the biggest players in their field, going through massive change across their product portfolio with a focus on brand new web service API’s. This Product Owner role will be key to their success – managing two agile development teams as they develop and build the company’s core API’s which will be used as the service layer for all new products.
The role:
As Product Owner you’ll be responsible for the output of the development teams working on your products, covering product vision and roadmap, product backlog management and product ROI.
Reporting to the CTO you’ll be managing two agile teams of experienced developers delivering high value API’s to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
You’ll be empowered as the central point of product leadership, understanding internal stakeholders and customer needs well enough to act as their voice, communicating to the development team what must be built.
You’ll be responsible for product ROI, ensuring product development budgets are spent in a way that maximises return while minimising business risk, and determine the profitability of each product feature based on the cost to develop versus the forecast revenue.
You’ll lead product management within this part of the business, building a new set of API’s which will be used as the core service layer for a new range of products.
Liaising with external facing product managers and internal clients you’ll be defining and driving the product components, looking at Web service API’s and deciding which services will be built.
You’ll be involved with Portfolio (programme planning), Product (Roadmap), Release (Minimum Marketable Feature Set for this release) and Sprint (sprint goal for this iteration).

One of the UK’s largest developers of front line clinical systems and solutions to the UK healthcare sector. Their systems are used across GP surgeries, hospitals, primary care and emergency services giving users access to in-field real-time patient data. With around 250 staff across 3 locations they’re part of a larger global technology group with 4000 staff in 12 countries.
Currently building a new set of API’s which will be used as the core service layer for all new products - a portfolio which will be the future of their business.
You?
You’re an experienced product person; either as Product Manager or Product Owner who’s worked at senior levels in agile software development environments with web service API’s products.
You’ve managed multiple agile teams across different locations and can quickly gain traction with cross functional teams.
You’ve a strong technical understanding of API’s (ideally web service API’s) and have managed wide product portfolios -taking new products through from inception to successful delivery.
You’re a great people person, a gifted communicator with excellent management skills who thrives in an autonomous role.
