Head of Technology and Business Change - London

£110,000 - £120,000 + benefits - Manager / Director

This role presents a great opportunity to make your mark within a global media organisation with an audience that extends to over half of the UK adult population, a major global reach and ever-increasing membership through its online media and digital brands. With this established digital presence, they are constantly exploring new technology and innovative products to win new customers, increase engagement, improve user experience and grow revenue streams.

Following extensive business analysis and with ongoing investments, the company are restructuring their working environment to encompass a new agile, collaborative and holistic approach for future delivery of their digital brands and products. This fast-paced, reactive and innovative methodology will be the driving force behind their brand development and maximisation of revenue streams, with a user-focused approach in UX, design and quality of service.

As the Head of Technology and Business Change you will be the decision-maker, leader, representative and driver for the Technology function.

Working for the consumer media company within this organisation you will have full autonomy in building and managing your own talented team, driving its direction strategy and culture. You will get to deliver business value through your own ideas and technology implementation, with a startup mentality and in a stunning office environment.

You will work with a lean agile approach to delivery change on all scales, ensuring projects & increments are delivered to budget, time and in scope. You will represent Technology in key stakeholder meetings with business & marketing teams. You will be accountable for engaging and driving value from key external partner/ supplier relationships and for consistency of approach across the portfolio. You will lead in the understanding and use of new emerging technologies, Ecommerce solutions, systems integration and infrastructure implementations in-line with enterprise and solution architectures.

 Business Change

 Specialism

 Managing the demand pipeline &  delivery of multiple interdependent  projects & small change across  complex technical and fast paced  business teams

 Creating strong relationships with  the Commercial teams within the  organisation

 Creating projects including delivery  of high level cost, resource and  time estimations in conjunction  with the CTO,  leading the business  and technical  teams through  decisive action and  problem-  solving to ensure delivery  is  completed to time and budget

 Managing demand and system  changes across the Commercial  Marketing landscape in conjunction  with Technology Operations and  Enterprise Architecture

 Challenging and innovating ways of  working through technology and  customer processes to drive  efficiency and supporting the  overall goal of maximising growth  through value driven development.  Keeping up to date with innovation,  technology and industry sector  developments and applying this to  the business and technology  landscape

 Being the ‘go to’ team member for  everything relating to marketing,  monetisation of news & ecommerce  both inside and outside of the  organisation  

 

If this is sounding like your perfect job you are a fully-formed leader preferably within a complex matrixed business environment with multiple stakeholders and experienced in transformation and change ideally within Ecommerce/digital marketing. You are self-reliant, full of enthusiasm and have your finger on the pulse of new tech and knowledge of emerging markets and consumer needs.

You will be telling the business where they need to go and how to get there.

You will be able to identify problems and know how to get around them with a start-up mentality, fast-paced mind-set and have had sole responsibility for your own product portfolio/end to end projects. You will have some development experience under your belt (including Java, C#, C++, Oracle, SQL, SAP). You ideally have a good understanding of digital advertising technology and will have worked with in Lean Six Sigma/process improvement movement methodologies.
