Technical Project Manager - Home based/remote

£400-£600 per day - Consultancy

We're working with a market leading consultancy and supplier of application software to the global healthcare insurance sector.  An exciting contract opportunity has arisen for a strong and charismatic client facing Technical Project Manager to join their team, responsible for planning and managing all implementation, deployment and migration tasks associated with the implementation of the company's specialist software systems for one of their key insurance clients.

As the key client facing Technical Project Manager you will provide technical consultancy to the Client and inside the organisation in the deployment and usage of the bespoke Software. 

This is a remote based role with occasional visits to the Bristol office and the Client’s sites, it will see you working closely with the various internal teams and relevant client contacts.

You will need to be a highly credible PM from the Insurance or Financial Services sectors who also has a good technical foundation, understanding the concept of Cloud, software implementations and migrations to Cloud and associated architecture.  With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will build strong relationships, challenge the status quo, influence and inspire confidence in you and the wider team.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the project lifecycle from inception to completion ensuring key project components are in place, including Project Initiation Document, detailed project plan, RAID logs and associated documentation.

  • Manage project risks, progress and reporting including overall project budget.

  • Defining the technical architecture for the integration of the bespoke software within the Client’s ecosystem. This includes defining integration strategy, completing gap analysis, interface design, security analysis and software selection.

  • Work closely with the Client to understand their requirements and provide solutions.

  • Plan, implement and manage data migration activities from the Client’s existing systems/applications.

  • Define infrastructure architecture for implementation including software, hardware and network requirements.

Who are we looking for?

  • A strong technical PM, ideally from the Insurance or Financial Services industries, with a proven track record in delivering software implementations and migrations within budget and on time.

  • The ability to work closely with stakeholders, internally and externally, at all levels.

  • A good understanding of the concept of Cloud, migrations to Cloud and associated Implementations and architecture.

  • Experience of requirements gathering, problem solving and solution offering.

  • Ability to document requirements, publish project plans, write RAID logs and minutes.

  • Driven and enthusiastic with a ‘can-do’ attitude to get the job done in a practical and pragmatic fashion whilst keeping key stakeholders satisfied and committed 

  • Ability to build teams and influence at all levels of organisation from the customer’s end users to C level executives.

  • Ability to commute to the Bristol office and Client’s sites on a monthly basis.

 

Day rate of between £400-£600 per day dependent on experience.
